“You can hate the war and not hate the vet. The veteran is a pawn. They have to do it. They are not given a choice. Our vets are honorable people… I bear no grudge,” said Ventura.
Former Minnesota governor, Navy SEAL, and WWF wrestler, James George Janos, better known by his stage name as Jesse Ventura, apparently has had enough BS in regards to the true purpose of U.S. military. Yesterday, on a day when we are to honor our veterans and military, instead Governor Ventura had some very harsh words directed to the leaders of the armed forces. He also said that if he was given the option to join the military today, he’d opt out of military service.
“I hate to say it, but no, I would be a conscientious objector today. I don’t believe that the military fights for our freedom,” the former special forces Navy SEAL and governor had said.
He further was quoted stating, “They give them all the ra ra at the stadiums, and they cheer ’em on. But when the veterans come home, we pretty much forget about them. They’re old news. They’re yesterday’s garbage. And it’s time to move on to the next war.”
“That’s why wars are fought — so the profiteers of war can make money,” Ventura said.
In late September, Ventura had appeared on the Alex Jones Show where he stated that the military industrial complex is keeping us in a state of eternal war.

I take issue with that first quote, although I agree with the rest of the article. Last I checked, there hasn’t been a draft since the Vietnam war, when Ventura served. Our military volunteered for the atrocities they’ve committed out of pure stupidity and ignorance. Even in the case of a draft, free will gives you the option to not comply. The problem is that stupid people often get angry and violent when you point out how stupid they’ve been and Ventura is probably afraid of angering vets. Or, he is trying to soothe his concsious for his service. This is coming from someone who came damn close to making the same stupid mistake, but at least I can own that it would have been MY mistake.
