The number 33 is directly related to human enlightenment, health and true Gnosis.
Our spine which in the occult is sometimes called the serpent has 33 vertebrae. Initiates in ancient times were known as Nagas, a word that means serpent. Top level Freemasons are said to be 33rd Degree Masons.
The Master’s number is also 33. This is why the Christ Jesus who also known as the Master and represents human enlightenment was crucified at Golgotha (place of the skull) on the logos at age 33 in the year 33 A.D. Logos means reason.
It is the serpent power that rises up the spine through the Kundalini (central nervous system) to the brain in the place of Golgatha, also known as our skull.
This is the alchemical path to illumination. The place of Christ, our savior. (more…)

Here is an interesting Gnostic article that came out this past week from the NY Post titled, “Conspiracy theories aren’t really about politics — but life.”
In the article, the author, Jonah Goldberg makes several references to Gnosticism and Gnosis in relation to our world, politics and even Presidential candidate, Donald Trump.
The author writes, “Today, religion doesn’t suffuse everything, and for many Americans it doesn’t inhabit anything at all. But the gnostic impulse is alive and well, eating away all forms of orthodoxy like termites behind the drywall.”
Goldberg added, “Donald Trump is all about the gnosis. He insists that the idiots in Washington don’t understand anything, particularly the “Art of the Deal.” If elected, he will simply apply his magical secret wisdom to the black hole in Washington and turn it into a supernova of winning.”
There is also a funny Gnostic quote from the article – If the Gnostics were alive today, they might send you email spam saying, “Click here to learn the five things the Church doesn’t want you to know about your eternal soul.” (more…)

By ELIPHAS LEVI – SUPERSTITION, from the Latin word “superstes,” surviving, is the sign which survives the idea which it
represents; it is the form preferred to the thing, the rite without reason, faith become insensate through isolating itself. It is in consequence the corpse of religion, the death of life, stupefaction substituted for inspiration.
Fanaticism is superstition become passionate, its name comes from the word “fanum,” which signifies “temple,” it is the temple put in place of God, it is the human and temporal interest of the priest substituted for the honour of priesthood, the wretched passion of the man exploiting the faith of the believer. Carl Jung had said, “The serpent is a Gnostic symbol for the spinal cord and the basal ganglia, because a snake is mainly backbone.”
33rd Degree Freemason, Manly P. Hall writes; “Sufficient similarity exists between the Masonic CHiram and the Kundalini of Hindu mysticism to warrant the assumption that CHiram may be considered a symbol also of the Spirit Fire moving through the sixth ventricle of the spinal column. This shows the role that spiritual illumination often plays in occult initiation.”
Jung further added, “The second part of it, the secretary-bird and the snake, has been correctly interpreted, in spite of the fact that the snake is not exactly Kundalini because the Kundalini serpent actually dissolves into light.” (Carl Jung, Letters Vol. 1, Pages 95-97)
