The fall of man is the descent of the ladder from the dot to the circumference; the resurrection or redemption of man is his return from the circumference to the dot. — Manly P. Hall

I will be like the dew to Israel; He will blossom like the lily, And he will take root like the cedars of Lebanon. His shoots will
sprout, And his beauty will be like the olive tree And his fragrance like the cedars of Lebanon. Hosea 14:5-6
For the purpose of this article, I would like to mainly focus on the Olive Tree spoken about in the Scripture and the first cultivators of Olives who were the same people involved in writing the Hebrew Bible and Old Testament, being that of the Phoenicians and later Greek Athenians. For example, there is an ancient olive tree in Crete known as the Finix (Phoenix) Olive that is said to be over 2,000 years old.
A tree that I believe is the biblical Olive tree of Abraham pictured to the right. It symbolizes the covenants made by the People of the Book being that of the ancient Israelites and Gentiles that was originally made in the Land of Canaan, which I believe to be the Holy Island of Crete and the focus of this article.
In 1997, the tree was declared a protected natural monument, and in October 2009, the Olive Tree Museum of Vouves was inaugurated in a nearby 19th-century house, displaying the traditional tools and process of olive cultivation. Branches from the tree were used to weave victors’ wreaths for the winners of the 2004 Athens Olympics and the 2008 Beijing Olympics.(wikipedia) (more…)

“The Hohokam were the original Phoenicians, migrating into the region three hundred years before the birth of Christ and
staying for seventeen hundred years.” Len Sherman
Many people are not aware that the name of the red rock spiritual place in the Southwest of the United States that we know as Sedona, Arizona, was founded by a biblical people we know as the Sidonians from the island of Crete. The Greeks had called them the Phoenicians, the Egyptians had known them as the Sea Peoples, and they are also known in the Scripture as the Hebrew people.
You will find that my claims of the Sidonians can actually be backed up by science, history, and simple etymology. For example, the name of the beautiful city called Sedona, is derived from the name of their home, Sidon. The name Sedona is derived from the Hebrew Sidonia ( Σιδών, ῶνος, ἡ). Hence, the Phoenician Hebrew Indians of Sedona, Arizona. (more…)

“There is no power on earth to be compared to him.” – Job 41 . 24
Leviathan, or The Matter, Forme, and Power of a Common-Wealth Ecclesiastical and Civil. London by the English philosopher Thomas Hobbes. He was one of the founders of modern political philosophy and political science. It was printed for Andrew Crooke, at the Green Dragon in 1651.
Hobbes published Leviathan in 1651. It builds on and extends his earlier works, Elements of Law (1640), and De Cive (1642), in which he had attempted to establish the foundations for a civil science, a science of political life. Hobbes’ intention is to show that man must subject himself to a sovereign power, a power greater than any other power known to man, save God.
The idea that we authorize those who govern us and that we are committed to obey precisely because we do so is so simple and yet so powerful, in part because of the intricate way in which Hobbes manages to drive a wedge between the origin and the exercise of sovereign power. He treats of the so-called Kingdom of Darkness, the conceptions of civil order which arise through the misguided or even misleading interpretation of Scripture.
According to Hobbes, society is a population beneath a sovereign authority, to whom all individuals in that society cede some rights for the sake of protection. Any power exercised by this authority can not be resisted because the protector’s sovereign power derives from individuals’ surrendering their own sovereign power for protection.
The individuals are thereby the authors of all decisions made by the sovereign. (more…)

By Manly P. Hall – “What means the subtle mystery of the phœnix reborn every six hundred years? Faintly from within the
sanctuary of the World Mysteries is whispered the answer.
Six hundred years before Christ the phœnix of wisdom (Pythagoras?) spread its wings and died upon the altar of humanity, consumed by the sacrificial fire.
In Nazareth the bird was again reborn from its own ashes, only to die upon the tree which had its roots in Adam’s skull. In A.D. 600 appeared Ahmed (Mohammed). (more…)
