In 1924, a disabled veteran of World War I and history buff, Charles E. Manier took his family out for a Sunday drive along Silverbell Road in the Tuscon, Arizona area when he decided to stop in order to check out an old, abandoned lime kiln. That is when Manier saw something protruding from the enbankment. He then retrieved a shovel from his car, and proceeded to unearth an ancient sixty-two pound riveted lead cross that was actually two lead crosses riveted together.

The fall of man is the descent of the ladder from the dot to the circumference; the resurrection or redemption of man is his return from the circumference to the dot. — Manly P. Hall

I will be like the dew to Israel; He will blossom like the lily, And he will take root like the cedars of Lebanon. His shoots will sprout, And his beauty will be like the olive tree And his fragrance like the cedars of Lebanon. Hosea 14:5-6
For the purpose of this article, I would like to mainly focus on the Olive Tree spoken about in the Scripture and the first cultivators of Olives who were the same people involved in writing the Hebrew Bible and Old Testament, being that of the Phoenicians and later Greek Athenians. For example, there is an ancient olive tree in Crete known as the Finix (Phoenix) Olive that is said to be over 2,000 years old.
A tree that I believe is the biblical Olive tree of Abraham pictured to the right. It symbolizes the covenants made by the People of the Book being that of the ancient Israelites and Gentiles that was originally made in the Land of Canaan, which I believe to be the Holy Island of Crete and the focus of this article.
In 1997, the tree was declared a protected natural monument, and in October 2009, the Olive Tree Museum of Vouves was inaugurated in a nearby 19th-century house, displaying the traditional tools and process of olive cultivation. Branches from the tree were used to weave victors’ wreaths for the winners of the 2004 Athens Olympics and the 2008 Beijing Olympics.(wikipedia) (more…)

“The Hohokam were the original Phoenicians, migrating into the region three hundred years before the birth of Christ and staying for seventeen hundred years.” Len Sherman
Many people are not aware that the name of the red rock spiritual place in the Southwest of the United States that we know as Sedona, Arizona, was founded by a biblical people we know as the Sidonians from the island of Crete. The Greeks had called them the Phoenicians, the Egyptians had known them as the Sea Peoples, and they are also known in the Scripture as the Hebrew people.
You will find that my claims of the Sidonians can actually be backed up by science, history, and simple etymology. For example, the name of the beautiful city called Sedona, is derived from the name of their home, Sidon. The name Sedona is derived from the Hebrew Sidonia ( Σιδών, ῶνος, ἡ). Hence, the Phoenician Hebrew Indians of Sedona, Arizona. (more…)
