For Yaldabaoth said, “I am God and there is no other God beside me.”
According to the ancient Gnostic texts, there is a creator God named Yadabaoth (Ilda-Baoth or Ialdabaoth ) who is described as the Child of Chaos, and was the son of Sophia (wisdom) in Gnostic Cosmogenesis. Yaldabaoth is called an angel in the apocryphal Gospel of Judas.
He is first mentioned in “The Cosmos, Chaos, and the Underworld” as one of the twelve angels to come “into being [to] rule over chaos and the [underworld]”. In the “Gospel of Nicodemus,” Yaldabaoth is called Satan, and Dante called the Devil simply a worm.
The Theosophists say that Yaldabaoth is identical with the Fetahil of the Codex Nazaraeus, the Demiurge of the Valentinian system (Lucifer, vi, 33), the Proarchos of the Barbelitae (Irenaeus, I, xxix, 4), the Great Archon of Basilides and the Elohim of Justinus. (1)

Researchers from the University of Haifa have found what they are calling a bronze mask in the 
image of the Greek god Pan that was recently discovered at an archaeological dig at the Sussita National Park in northern Israel.
According to head researcher Dr. Michael Eisenberg of the Zinman Institute of Archaeology, bronze masks of this size—larger than a human head—are extremely rare and none have yet been found depicting Pan or any other figures from Greek or Roman mythology.
In Ancient Greek mythology, Pan is the son of Zeus. Diodorus Siculus had said that Pan was adored by the Egyptians. Pan usually terrified the inhabitants of the adjacent country, even when he was nowhere to be seen, that kind of fear which often seizes men, and which is only ideal or imaginary, has received from him the name of panic which is derived from the Latin “panici .” His statues were to be seen in all the temples, and that to his honor they had built in Thebes, the city of Chemmis (Egypt), that is, the city of Pan or Panopolis. Let it be said that all throughout the course of the history of wise men and philosophers, there have 
been many people whose philosophies and research did not agree with one another. These men of learning took their areas of expertise seriously. They would often discuss and sometimes argue about their findings amongst one another.
With men being men and many of us coming from very violent cultures, even the wise philosophers could get animalistic at times and these arguments over knowledge and who was right or wrong would at times lead to a real physical fight, and even murder. (more…)
