According to Strabo,‘ a large mirror was elevated on the summit of the temple of the sun at Heliopolis, to reflect into that temple the full splendour of its meridian beam, whilst another of still larger dimensions was placed on the Pharos at Alexandria, in such a manner as to reflect ships approaching Egypt at a great distance, and imperceptible to the eye. Mr. Maurice has observed, that if these had been metallic reflectors, instead of glass tinned, they must soon have been corroded. That does not seem to me to follow as a necessary consequence. But we know the ancient Egyptians did possess the art of making glass, as is proved by the glass netting of beads, which I saw spread on the breast of a female mummy in the Museum of Lyons. WASHINGTON — The Defense Department official who oversees the program that has sent billions of dollars’ worth of military-style equipment to local police over the past several years couldn’t come up with a reason that cops on the streets need bayonets during a Senate hearing on Tuesday.
At a hearing examining the issue of police militarization, Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) asked about an NPR investigation that found that nearly 12,000 bayonets had been sent to local police through the Law Enforcement Support Office (also known as the 1033 program) from 2006 through this year.
“What purpose are bayonets being given out for?” Paul asked Alan Estevez, who serves as principal deputy under secretary of defense for acquisition, technology and logistics.

But before all notes of languages, the writing of the Hebrews is, of all, the most sacred in the figures of characters, points of vowels, and tops of accents; or consisting in matter, form, and spirit.
The position of the Stars being first made in the seat of God, which is Heaven, after the figure of them (as the masters of the Hebrews testify) are most fully formed the letters of the Celestial Mysteries, as by their figure, form, and signification, so by the numbers signified by them, and also by the various harmonies of their conjunction. Moreover, they divide the letters of their Hebrew alphabet, viz., into twelve simple, seven double, and three mothers, which, they say, signify as characters of things—the Twelve Signs, Seven Planets, and Three Elements, viz., Fire, Water, and Earth; for they account Air no element, but as the glue and spirit of the elements. Did YouTube delete Vinny Eastwood’s #1 ranked news channel for publishing video about New Zealand’s prime minister John Key‘s past?
Since 2008, New Zealander, Vinny Eastwood has been attending public meetings and protests, to film, interview and publish the speakers on YouTube free of charge to help serve the public interest in making important public events available in their entirety for everyone.
Recently, one of Vinny’s most highly viewed videos ever, with over 6000 views in just 6 days, and what he says something happened that seemed strangely biblical on the 7th day; his YouTube channel was put to rest without warning. Hence, Youtube deleted his account that had 3.5 million hits, 16,000 subscribers and 3000 videos.
Was this a direct attack on Vinny for his work exposing New Zealand’s prime minister, or was he just violating Youtube terms of service? (more…)
