A new study claims to have found evidence that Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) existed over 3,000 years ago.
The paper was written by Prof. Hacker Hughes, from Anglia Ruskin University, and Dr. Abdul-Hamid, Consultant Psychiatrist at the North Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust. The research they put forth shows evidence that psychological traumas were suffered as far back as in Mesopotamia (ancient Iraq) during the Assyrian Dynasty,who ruled from 1300 to 609 BCE.
The report is called, Nothing New under the Sun: Post-Traumatic Stress Disorders in the Ancient World, and in it they state;
Herodotus’ account of the Athenian spear carrier Epizelus’ psychogenic mutism following the Marathon Wars is usually cited as the first documented account of post-traumatic stress disorders in historical literature. This paper describes much earlier accounts of post combat disorders that were recorded as occurring in Mesopotamia (present day Iraq) during the Assyrian dynasty (1300–609 bc). The descriptions in this paper include many symptoms of what we would now identify in current diagnostic classification systems as post-traumatic stress disorders, including flashbacks, sleep disturbance and low mood. There are many stories that have been told over the course of history about animated statues that come to life, brazen talking heads, and wooden puppets 
who become little boys. I had written about some of them in my recent article, The Medieval Artificial Intelligence of Mechanical Talking Heads.
A few examples, would be the story of the Knights Templar who were said to be in possession of a Brazen Head known as Baphomet that could give them answers to their questions, and the first French Catholic Pope, Gerbert of Aurillac, AKA Pope Sylvester II (c. 945–1003 CE). There is also the more modern story of Pinocchio who was a wooden puppet that was transformed into a “real boy.”
These old stories may seem like fantasies dreamed up by some creative author, but the facts are what was once considered mythology, may soon became a scientific reality.
Scientists, at what has been dubbed as the “Open Worm Project”, have created an artificial intelligence (AI) by developing a digital version of a worm brain that they have uploaded into a LEGO robot. The LEGO has now become animated by responding to the worm’s thoughts and actions. (more…)

More than a Feeling: ONR Investigates ‘Spidey Sense’ for Sailors and Marines – US Navy
This U.S. military science news below, is very interesting because I have written about intuition a few times here on Gnostic Warrior. I have also interviewed a 24 year Navy vet, and ex-Navy SEAL Chief, Michael Jaco who is the author of two books on this subject; The Intuitive Warrior, and Past Lives of a Navy SEAL Remembered.
Jaco was a member of the well-known SEAL Team 6 and various other teams. He had said that he used intuition with his powers of perception and awareness to save his life, and the lives of his fellow SEALs numerous times. (more…)

My most recent blog post on the cowry shell, explained how they were what we may call “an elixir or giver of life”, that 
were used as medicine, money, and ceremonies of life and death by many ancient cultures around the world. This article on fossilized mollusc shells and my future research, will detail my alchemical research into the use of ancient shells by humans, in my attempt to prove that they have always been one of the most ancient, and best medicines known to humankind.
For example, scientists from the University of Amsterdam recently announced, that they had discovered the earliest evidence of humans that has ever been found. It was in Indonesia, where anthropologists unearthed approximately 500,000 year-old engravings on fossilized mollusc shells which predates a previous discovery that was about 130,000 years old.
