I thought it was pretty cool that today Google had honored the Year of the Goat (or Year of the Ram) with a Google Doodle featuring an animated ram and fireworks display. The Year of the Goat follows the Chinese lunar calendar which officially starts today on February 19, 2015.
The goat is the eighth sign of the 12-year cycle of animals that appear in the Chinese zodiac. The 12 zodiac animals are: Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, and Pig. Every twelve years the Year of the Goat / Year of the Sheep is celebrated during world-wide Chinese New Year festivals.
A famous Malaysian Chinese astrology master, Master Thean Y Nang who previously predicted the 9/11 attacks and the 2008 Sichuan earthquake, has said that the coming year will overall be much more favourable than the outgoing Year of the Wood Horse (2014).
