Carl Jung: Alchemy formed the bridge to Gnosticism, and to the modern psychology of the unconscious

Carl Jung explains how Gnosticism is not dead and has formed a bridge via alchemy that existed between past and present in Memories, Dreams and Reflections. Jung had written:

“But when I began to understand alchemy I realized that it represented the historical link with Gnosticism, and that a continuity therefore existed between past and present.
