IF a society is secret, there are my logical reasons that they should choose to be clandestine, other than ruling the masses. If you break it down, wanting to be secret is logical because information can be used by enemies and so any type of strategy in a power game would need to be kept secret…do you announce what your next move will be when you play chess with an opponent?
So if there is a tyranny suppressing the rights of the people, and anyone caught attempting subversive revolutionary action would be punished, then it would be the ANTI TYRANNY group that would need to go secret in order to cause the revolution.
Hence, there are good and bad secret societies, and it is only the mindset of dogmatic fear that leads one to believe they must be bad by definition….a fear of the unknown if you will.
But if there were a secret society who was intent on overthrowing the elite, go them!
