Imagine having little to no free will over the movement of your limbs. Now picture yourself with a hand that you literally have no control over.
A hand which seems to have a mind of its own and often, it is extremely adversarial to you. It will get mad and cause you harm. A hand that also wants to attack and hurt you to the point that it will even try to wrap itself around your neck in order to strangle you, slap your face and leave you black and blue.
I know this sounds like the plot of Hollywood Horror film but this actually happens to people in real life. Welcome to The Science of Human Duality in a modern world where people with brain lesions, seizures and surgery experience a strange medical phenomenon known as “Alien hand syndrome (AHS), Alien Limb, Anarchic Hand or Dr. Strangelove syndrome.” It was originally called “la main étrangère (‘the foreign hand’)” by Brion and Jedynak in 1972 describing patients with corpus callosal tumors.
In Stanley Kubrick’s movie Dr Strangelove, the main character has AHS and is described as “erratic.” His right hand appears to have a mind of its own, at times raising his dark gloved hand in a Nazi salute and at other times, clutching his own throat as if to choke him. Dr Strangelove must try to restrain this rebellious right hand with his left hand.
Alien hand syndrome (AHS) can be described as a medical condition that affects that brain which causes people not being able to control their bodily movements and their limbs seem to move on their own. For example, a person with AHS may move their hand, hit, and or reach for something even though they had “no thought or desire” that caused the hand to move.
It is important to note that most patients describe the involuntary hand movement as if it as a mind of its own and It is that AHS most commonly affects the left hand and leg.
Today, medical Experts describe alien hand syndrome as a phenomenon reflecting a functional “disentanglement” between thought and action. It has been proposed that alien hand should be strictly defined as involuntary movements of the limb, whether appearing purposeful or not, and should be associated with a sense of loss of ownership (Hassan and Josephs 2016).
There are many reports that this alien hand appears to act mostly in a negative or hurtful manner towards the patient and or their loved ones. It is as if the limb has some unseen “psychic phenomenon or unknown entity” controlling it.
Patients with AHS may personify the limb, referring to it as “my little friend,” and often report the limb as “having a mind of its own.” Many researchers quote an example of a patient who reported that her hand intermittently attempted to choke her. Patients often attempt to control the hand as though it were a rebellious child, sometimes rebuking, holding, slapping, or chastising it. Most people who suffer from this disease simply feel estranged from the hand or accept only a tenuous relationship with it.(Clinical Evaluation for Aphasia -Kaufman & Milstein 2013)
In 1908, German neuro-psychiatrist, Kurt Goldstein was the first person to publish a detailed case report about a right-handed woman who had suffered a stroke affecting her left side from which she had partially recovered. The problem was now the patient had no control over her left arm which she described as if it belonged to another person and performed actions that were independent of her own will.
The patient complained of a feeling of “strangeness” in relation to the goal-directed movements of the left hand and insisted that “someone else” was moving the left hand, and that she was not moving it herself.
One day, Goldstein’s patient complained, “There must be an evil spirit in the hand!”
Goldstein first connoted the “alien” quality of unilateral repetitive grasping, the impression that an alternate entity is responsible for the behavior (Goldstein 1908).
Researchers in a 2014 study, describe this negative behavior as the following; “Alien hand might manifest as a self-groping behavior and self-oppositional behavior. Autocriticism has also been reported, with the person slapping the alien hand with the normal hand. The person loses control of the affected hand as if it is being controlled by an external force. The alien hand might grab onto things and the person might have to use the other limb to release the objects from it.”
The researchers conclude, “At extremes, the alien hand has been reported to even suffocate the patient.”
A 2013 study reveals the case report of an 84-year-old African American woman who developed AHS and was so distressed by her involuntary movements that she thought her arm was “possessed by the Devil”.
The researchers had said, “An 84-year-old African-American right hand dominant woman presented to the emergency department complaining of headache and episodes of uncontrollableleft-hand movements. She described the episodes wherein her left arm moved uncontrollably as if it was groping around trying to grab herself on her body. The patient explained that while asleep she felt that “someone is trying to grab means if someone is in bed with me”.
The researchers concluded, “At times, she felt the need to talk to her hand or yell at it in order to command it to stop these embarrassing movements. These movements occurred while she was attempting to eat, watch television and during use of the toilet. The patient was evidently very distressed by these events and thought that her arm was “possessed by the Devil”.”
A 2007 study study reveals the story of a 41 year-old, left-handed, HIV positive, white woman who was admitted to a hospital in 2005 after she suffered severe headaches on her “right side” of the head which later developed into drooling and the loss of control of her left hand which she called a “monster.”
During the same period, she developed brief episodes of left-hand weakness associated with dysarthria. Two weeks later, the patient lost control of her left hand, mainly at night where upon waking her left hand was grasping her right arm. Subsequently, her dominant hand presented extravolitional movements, as if having a will of its own, not responding to volitional commands such as opening a door or holding an umbrella, but groping unneeded objects and having difficulty releasing them.
The patient often found her left hand closed, in front of her face, as if it were “looking” at her.
She was afraid of her hand: “it seemed to be a monster”.
What causes alien hand syndrome?
Most people who have been diagnosed with alien hand syndronme (AHS) suffer from lesions and tumors located in the right hemisphere of the brain and from damage to the corpus callosum which can give rise to “purposeful” actions in the sufferer’s non-dominant hand (an individual who is left-hemisphere-dominant will experience the left hand becoming alien, and the right hand will turn alien in the person with right-hemisphere dominance).
But in the vast majority of patients, the damage occurs on the right side of the brain which causes their left hand to become alien.
In “the callosal variant”, the patient’s hand counteracts voluntary actions performed by the other, “good” hand. Two phenomena that are often found in patients with the callosal alien hand are agonisticdyspraxia and diagnostic dyspraxia.
Numerous cases have been reported of the syndrome after surgery for epilepsy and seizures. which is a neurosurgical procedure with an incision involving the corpus callosum. The corpus callosum is a band of nerve fibers in the middle of our brains that acts as a mediator between our left and right hemispheres of our brain.
Apparently, once its cut, all neurological hell can break loose and then it appears that an alien or little demon then controls the left hand.
HERE IS SOME AGNOSTIC SCIENCE FOR THE FEW GNOSTICS OUT THERE….
Agonistic dyspraxia involves compulsive automatic execution of motor commands by one hand when the patient is asked to perform movements with the other hand. For example, when a patient with callosal damage was instructed to pull a chair forward, the affected hand would decisively and impulsively push the chair backwards.[14]
Agonistic dyspraxia can thus be viewed as an involuntary competitive interaction between the two hands directed toward completion of a desired act in which the affected hand competes with the unaffected hand to complete a purposive act originally intended to be performed by the unaffected hand.
Diagonistic dyspraxia, on the other hand, involves a conflict between the desired act in which the unaffected hand has been engaged and the interfering action of the affected hand which works to oppose the purpose of the desired act intended to be performed by the unaffected hand. For instance, when Akelaitis’s patients underwent surgery to the corpus callosum to reduce epileptic seizures, one patient’s left alien hand would frequently interfere with the right hand. For instance, while trying to turn over to the next page with the right hand, his left hand would try to close the book.
SURGERY FOR EPILEPSY
Pope Pius XII declared against the practice of lobotomy to treat (change) socially unbecoming behaviour, maintaining that a lesion to the frontal lobes would strip a person of free will. This thorny issue was debated at some length by an ad hoc committee of ecclesiastics and scientists. They came to the conclusion that the freedom of will of people affected by such a lesion would be degraded, and advised against their becoming priests or receiving Holy Communion.

On the northeast coastal area of the island of Crete lying east of the island’s capital Heraklion, and north of the town of Ierapetra and west of the town of Sitia, you will find the most ancient Holy Village of Ayios Nikolaos, which is also known by the names Agios Nik or Ag Nik – Greek: Άγιος Νικόλαος [ˈaʝos niˈkolaos]) and in English – Saint Nicholas.
At the northern end of the harbor of the village on a small headland, there is a famous old Church of Hagios Nikolaos – St. Nicholas, which gave its name to the town.
St. Nicholas is the patron protector Saint of Holy Russia who according to the Russian Orthodox Church, has saved Russia many times from catastrophe. In fact, it is said that almost every church in Russia has at least one St. Nicholas icon and his image has always received the greatest reverence from the Russians. Nicholas is also the patron saint of fishermen, sailors and of all of Greece.
The Church of St Nicholas is surrounded by the largest cypresses which were used anciently to build the ships for the Phoenicians/Cretans and it belongs to the most important holy churches in Crete and its walls are adorned by many priceless frescoes. This location is where it is said that the old temple of Poseidon had stood and the court of the physicians.
There are many other old important Orthodox Churches nearby such as Agios Nikolaos in Ormos, the Early Christian Basilica in Elounda, Kera, Agios Ioannis Prodromos, Hodegetria, Agios Georgios Kavoussiotis and Agios Ioannis Theologos in Kritsa, Metamorphosis in Neapolis, Agios Onoufrios in Voulismeni, Kera-goniotissa in Latsida, Agios Georgios Selinaris, Agios Georgios Vrachassotis Monastery, Fraro Monastery and Megali Panagia in Neapolis, Koufi Petra Convent and Kremasta Convent in Vrysses.
There are quite a few beautiful beaches that are close by as well. Beaches like Ammos, Kitroplatia in the town center, Ammoudi and Havania beaches, which is on the way to Elounda and Plaka pebble beach.
Going back further in time we find that this ancient Cretan town is of extreme historical significance due to the fact that it was one of the twelve towns of Attica. It was anciently called Tenos, which was sacred to Poseidon, the modern town of St. Nicholas is built. It was eventually was melded into one political community by King Theseus who was said to be the founder-king of Athens.
The story of Thesus tells us that he was rescued from the Labyrinth by the Cretan King Mino’s daughter Ariadne and for her Great Work, she was given the Crown that was legally called Gnosia Corona, and she has officially surnamed Gnosis, from the City of the Goddess in Crete – Knossos.
This may be why the village of Saint Nicholas (Ayios Nikolaos) is very close to a Knossos – The City of Gnosis. It was from the harbor of Ayios Nikolaos that was also known as the port from which the Theorise, or sacrificial embassies to Delos. There is also the alleged 4th-2nd century BC settlement of Lato, which I believe is another name for Delos, now Dia.
About two miles from Mount Ida, you will find what was once known as “The Plateau of St Nicholas (Russsian: Ayios Nikolaos & Greek: Άγιος Νικόλαος)” and is more commonly called “The Plateau of Isopata”. It is from this location where you will obtain a most spectacular “royal view” of the city of Knossos and the Harbor below.
It is from this location that researchers discovered one of the largest and most decorated royal tombs ever found on Crete. It was said to be of princely dimensions and construction that no British general, Turkish bey, Venetian noble, or Greek archon was ever buried in such a grave.
Today it is known as the Royal Tomb of Isopata and is said to date back approximately 3,500 hundred years since this burial chamber was completed.
This is also where the famous 3,500-year-old sarcophagus of Hagia Triada was discovered.
As I mentioned, St. Nicholas is the patron Saint of All Russia and according to Russian historians, there are five gates to the Kremlin, in Moscow with the Nikolskiya Vorotui, or Gate of St. Nicholas being one of them. There is a legend that says before the invasion of 1812 this Gate, with the tower, was restored after the late Emperor Alexander came to the throne. But in 1812 the most of the tower was blown in ruins, except for the base of the structure.
The Russians rebuilt the tower in a much more magnificent style than before. Symbolically on the East side of the Nikolskiya Vorotui, is an image of St. Nicholas, in a frame with a lit candle which is always kept burning and a dove over-hovering signifying the immortal spirit of Nicholas. The Son of Man is at the left of the image ascending, and below is an angel known as a seraph holding a three-branched candlestick, said to be emblematical of the Trinity.
The seraphs or seraphim are six-winged beings that fly around the Throne of God crying “holy, holy, holy.” They hold 5th rank of ten in the Jewish angelic hierarchy and the highest rank in the Christian angelic hierarchy of angels that govern this current world.
This is why you will find many religious processions and Christian celebrations all around the village of Agios Nikolaos to celebrate this Russian Saint and why the Village of Ayios Nikolaos is one of Crete’s hottest tourist spots with many Russians traveling here every day to honor their country’s patron Saint.
In our modern era, the great village of Ayios Nikolaos has been chosen by some of the world’s most famous directors to shoot many films that appear to have a secret esoteric meaning such as Jules Dassin, Walt Disney, BBC producers, and many others. These movies and documentaries then led to the rapid tourist development of the area which still exists to this very day.
Movies like “He Who Must Die,“: which was based on the novel’ Christ Recrucified. Interestingly, this movie mirrors true history. The film is about a Turkish-occupied Greek village shortly after World War I, villagers put on a Passion Play, with ordinary people taking the roles of Jesus, Peter, Judas, etc. Staging the play leads to them rebelling against their Turkish rulers in a way that mirrors Jesus’s story.

The ancient symbol of the serpent coiled around an egg was originally attributed to the mythical founder of the Orphic mysteries, Orpheus. It was a religion centered on the teachings of the origins of life, procreation, immortality, mortality, creativity, and wisdom.
It is the emblem of the Logoi, or self-born, the Gnostic Christian who are reborn again into the immortal light of their own Gnosis.
The first emanation from this egg, described in an ancient hymn, was Phanes-Dionysus, the personification of light. In Greek myth, particularly Orphic thought, Phanes is the golden-winged hermaphroditic primordial being who was hatched from the silver shining cosmic Orphic Egg. Called Protogonos (First-Born) and Eros (Love) — being the seed of gods and men — Phanes means manifestor or revealer, and is related to the Greek words “light” and “to shine forth.”
An ancient Orphic hymn addresses the serpent thus: “Ineffable, hidden, brilliant scion, whose motion is whirring, you scattered the dark mist that lay before your eyes and, flapping your wings, you whirled about, and through this world, you brought pure light.”
The Derveni Papyrus refers to Phanes:”Πρωτογόνου βασιλέως αἰδοίου∙ τῶι δ’ ἄρα πάντες ἀθάνατοι προσέφυν μάκαρες θεοὶ ἠδ̣ὲ θέαιναι καὶ ποταμοὶ καὶ κρῆναι ἐπήρατιο ἄλλα τε πάντα , ἅ̣σσα τότ’ ἦγγεγαῶτ ’ , αὐτὸς δ’ ἄρα μοῦνος ἔγεντο.” “Of the First-born king, the reverend one; and upon him all the immortals grew, blessed gods and goddesses and rivers and lovely springs and everything else that had then been born; and he himself became the sole one”.
Dionysus of the Orphic tradition is intimately connected to Protogonos. In the Orphic Hymn 30, he is given a list of epithets that also allude to Protogonos: “πρωτόγονον, διφυῆ, τρίγονον, Βακχεῖον ἄνακτα,ἄγριον, ἄρρητον, κρύφιον, δικέρωτα, δίμορφον” “Primeval, two-natured, thrice-born, Bacchic lord, savage, ineffable, secretive, two-horned, and two-shaped”
Manly P. Hall had said about the serpent and egg, “The ancient symbol of the Orphic Mysteries was the serpent-entwined egg, which signified Cosmos as encircled by the fiery Creative Spirit. The egg also represents the soul of the philosopher; the serpent, the Mysteries. At the time of initiation, the shell is broke and man emerges from the embryonic state of physical existence wherein he had remained through the fetal period of philosophic regeneration.”
In the Ancient Egyptian mysteries, we find the god Ra shown in the Ritual (Book of the Dead, xvii., 50) beaming in his egg (the Sun), and he starts off as soon as the god Shoo (the Solar energy) awakens and gives him the impulse. “He is in the Solar egg, the egg to which is given life among the gods” (Ibid., xlii., 13). The Solar god exclaims: “I am the creative soul of the celestial abyss. None sees my nest, none can break my egg, I am the Lord!” (Ibid., lxxxv.).
Albert Pike had said – “Among the Egyptians, the serpent was a symbol of Divine Wisdom; and, with its tail in its mouth (Ouroboros), of Eternity. In the ritual of Zoroaster, it was a symbol of the Universe.”
We can find the modern meaning of the ancient esoteric symbology of the serpent (worm) to be both the enlightened creator in the form of the sperm (worm) as it enters the women’s Ovula (egg) to create life. Please notice the light surrounding this event. As it is said in the Christian secret Gnostic mysteries of generation and genealogy in the aptly named Genesis 3:13; “And the LORD God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat.”
Genesis 1:3, “And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.”
In China, the ring between two Serpents was the symbol of the world governed by the power and wisdom of the Creator. Hence the Serpent entwined round an [Orphic] Egg referred to the creation of the Universe.”
As I have written before, the mythical Orpheus I have found to be a real Cretan (Phoenician) man named Epimenides Gnosis (Greek: Ἐπιμενίδης) from the City of Knossos (Gnosis) who was considered a Messiah and Christ to both the Athenians and the Cretans.
This is where I believe he developed these serpentine mysteries of the true initiation into the secrets of Gnosis on Mount Ida in the cave of their God Zeus which was located on the ancient Holy island of Crete.
The symbology of the serpent and egg of the Orphic Mysteries was most likely developed first from the Solar Egg of the Egyptians and passed to their Brethren, the Phoenicians (Sea Peoples) of Crete. The symbol would later give rise to other Gnostic Symbols and Gods found all around the globe such as Abraxas, Yaldabaoth, Ouroborus, Phanes, the Mundane Egg, Brahman Golden Egg, Druid’s Egg, the Midgard Snake of the Nordic Eddas, and in the Christian mysteries, the Easter Egg, to name a few.

On October 26, 2018, an Indiana man had told police after he allegedly killed his mother that he was possessed by demons and Hitler, according to News Week.
Jason A. Steiss, 34, is now in police custody charged in the beating death of his mom, Joy Steiss. Authorities were called to his home and approximately 1 a.m. and found the victim unconscious and unresponsive.
Investigators said Joy Steiss had suffered blunt force trauma and appeared to have been strangled.
During the police interview, the suspect said that he bit his mother on the arms, hit, punched and choked her. He had blood on his face, arms, hands and clothing.
Steiss also had told police many times that he needed to be put in prison for his actions and that he needed to be “put down” and said he “wanted the electric chair.”
Later, when Steiss was questioned if he felt bad about what he did, he said, “sort of, kind of.”

A North Dakota man was arrested for attempted murder after he stabbed a woman because he thought “she was a witch and he had to slay her because she had cursed him.”
Court documents state that the perpetrator, Akmal Rashidovich Azizov, 20, had searched Google on his phone about how to slay witches and demons before the crime because he believed that she was the cause of all the negativity in his life.
He apparently found information online about breaking the curse by killing the witch with a silver knife on the “left side” of the victim.
Azizov is a from the Russian Republic of Uzbekistan and is a former Stillwater resident and 2016 Stillwater High School, valedictorian.
I found it interesting that the court documents stated that Azizov had approached the alleged witch from behind and tried to slash the “left side of her throat and all the stab wounds were on the left side of the victim.” Black magicians, Satanists, and witches are said to follow the Left-Hand Path.
Several local media outlets picked up the story. The Grand Forks Herald reported that Azizov told police he had been stalking the woman on campus and the city of Grand Forks for three weeks. Apparently, the victim had cut Azizov out of her life two weeks before the attack because she was alarmed after he told her about disturbing dreams, the Pioneer reported.
The suspect had allegedly planned to kill her on campus several times but lost his nerve at the last minute.
The Pioneer reported that Azizov’s allegedly told police he might have been dealing with schizophrenia and his lawyer argued during his hearing that the silver knife was not sharp enough to cause actual damage and his client may be suffering from mental health issues.
