Men, Keep Within the Compass to Avoid the Many Troubles that Others Endure

The symbology in this old Masonic image really says it all. Live morally in accordance with a humble lifestyle based on the 10 commandments and you too shall avoid the many troubles that others endure. It does not matter if you are a man or woman, this is sound advice in any day and age. Whether you choose to live righteously or do thou wilt is up to you.

Symbols - keep within the compass

The Hebrew Origins of the Vulcan Hand Sign of Spock

In my last article on hand signs called, “The Illuminati Hand Sign of the Pyramid,” I explained that the hand sign we Symbols - spockoften see many modern entertainers such as Jay Z and his wife Beyonce make with both hands in the shape of a triangle is actually derived from the Hebrew Kohanim Tribe of Levi who are also known as the Levites.

The priests perform what is called the nesiat kapayim or the “Priestly Blessing”, that accompanies the prayer service. The Levites use two hands with the thumbs touching and fingers paired and split, and extended outward for the Shin gesture forming the letter Shin (שׁ), an emblem for Shaddai, “Almighty [God]” which can be seen in the images above and below. Keep within Compass and you shall be sure, to avoid many troubles which others endure

Published by Bowles & Carver After Robert Dighton – London, 1785 The British Museum

The Masonic image below utilizes a compass, a Masonic symbol, an emblem of virtue representing restraint and self-control, to illustrate a lesson in conduct. The ideal woman of that time was supposed to stay within the bounds circumscribed by the compass and “Enter not into the way of the wicked and go not in the path of evil men.” At the corners of the print are behaviors of “fallen” women.

In the upper left a mother is not caring for her child properly; the infant appears to be slipping from her lap. In the top right a woman is shown working in a tavern. In the lower left a woman is standing in a street selling things to make money. In the lower right we see a prostitute soliciting some men. All of these activities are, it is suggested, inappropriate and demeaning for a woman.

The reward for behaving “properly” is written around the circle: “Keep within compass and you shall be sure to avoid many troubles that others endure.” In addition to proscribing certain behaviors on the part of women the illustration describes the appropriate relationship between husband and wife: in a marriage the woman should tend to the family and depend on the man to work and provide for them; her role is to be the “Virtuous Woman” and “a Crown to her Husband.”

There is nothing new under the entertainment sun.

In the not so distant past, many of these overpaid actors would have been low paid court gestures and poets working for beer and food in the Kings Court who were tasked with entertaining the King’s subjects. Their job was to take the stress, kingdoms troubles and future plans of the royal court off the minds of the people who were akin to pawns on a chessboard much like they are today. As time rolled on, these methods and techniques of the ruling elite became more and more refined to the point of what we see today in the technological entertainment and media world. (more…)
